To the Other Side of the Rainbow

You came into our life so fragile, scared and kind;
You always kissed me when I'm sad.
You always make me feel complete each and every time;
You brought so much love and laughter into our lives.
You're so clingy like a baby brother and a lover;
You always keep me in company whenever I'm alone.
You always listen to all my nags and complaints about the world,
You never get tired of doing these over and over.
But the time comes that I feared the most;
When we arrived at home you were lying down on the floor.
We immediately brought you to your vet;
They tried to revive you but it's already the end.
Tears poured out constantly,
Wishing for a miracle that you will live.
But I must accept the reality,
That you have now left me.
The house seems so quiet without you standing there;
You no longer wait and greet me with your waggling tail.
You're not there to make me smile and laugh anymore,
My heart is breaking because you left so much memories in our home.
But just for now I need to mourn,
For my broken heart--it needs to mend.
Though some might say, "it's just a dog"
I know I lost a faithful companion, loyal and loving friend.
Thank you for all the years you shared with us,
The joy and laughter you brought to us.
We will always miss you our dearest Po,
You will always be our Baby Big Boy.
